Transformations continue unabated within the power sector. Older power plants are being retired, energy resources have become greener and more widely distributed, Tesla has made electric vehicles the cool new thing, and our more flexible electric grid is smarter than ever!

Together, these trends have created an exciting new opportunity for “beneficial electrification,” which refers to electrifying energy end-uses that have historically been powered by fossil fuels. Examples of beneficial electrification include water heating, space heating and vehicle charging. Benefits include reductions in both costs and emissions – a win for everyone!

Please save the date for a SEEA Networking Breakfast, hosted at Cox Automotive’s offices, by Cox Enterprises in Atlanta, in which we will explore beneficial electrification and what it means for the Southeast.
